Are Mira Bhayender Residents waits to get killed by Plague like deceases as happened in Surat?

What is urgency
Mira Bhayener Residents are facing the problem of Garbage lifting since last Dasera.
Accumulation of Garbage for so many days is really a health hazard. We People forget immediately what was happened in recent past in Surat. Are we waiting to be killed by Plague like deceases as happened in Surat? Since Dasera, the population of Rats & Mouses has been increased in manifold. They have made their houses beneath our buildings and are damaging the drainage systems of our buildings & common open drainage system. Even the size of Rats is increasing. This is a real threat. The gas coming out from accumulated garbage is another major health hazard. Tehre is every possibility that people will soon be get affected from various types of diseases and cancers. So, please wake up. Raise voice. Discuss the topic. Oppose it. Ask for immediate action.
May be you all must be aware that the basic reasons behind this issue are:
1. Political Vendetta between political parties to grab Mayor Post and hold on MBMC
2. Political Leaders decision to teach a lesson to newly appointed contractor who did not paid them the amounts demanded by them
3. Gross negligence of Authorities to provide sufficient land for dumping as per need of the area
4. Opposition from Uttan Residents against existing dumping ground facility.

Detail discussion
Political Vendetta between political parties to grab Mayor Post and hold on MBMC
All parties want to gain control over the MBMC and Mayor post. All must be knowing how present Mayor get elected as Mayor by making mockery of our democracy. These politicians know that we citizens will never dare to oppose them. The term of Narendra Mehta as Mayor ends in February, 2010 and in recent past the Assembly elections were held when this dirties political gimmick started so that Narendra Mehta can be thrown out. It worked in Assembly Election as People were fade up due to Garbage problem. Parties want to loot huge money by having control over MBMC. Therefore, the issue of garbage appeared to be intentionally fired up by vested interest.

We, People are required to know these politicians and teach a lesson in elections.

Newly appointed contractor did not paid the amounts demanded by politicians
It is learnt that newly appointed contractor get the contract without satisfying certain vested interest. Now, it is turn of politicians to teach a lesson to him as the contract amount is payable to extent of per trip of garbage lifted by contractor. Now, it is not possible to lift the garbage thus he may face losses provided he failed to satisfy these vested interest and gain even without actual lifting the garbage.

Gross negligence of Authorities
The Authorities have grossly neglected and did not anticipate the need of the dumping ground to dispose of the garbage. Population in Mira-Bhayender town has been multiplied in many fold in last five years. The politicians and administrators i.e. Commissioner etc. of MBMC did not taken necessary and effective steps to acquire sufficient land where garbage can be lifted. The MBMC is taking taxes from residents but failed to provide this basic facility. Supreme Court has given directions in regard to Dumping Ground. But since these politicians & administration is not accountable, how one can expect that they work for citizens. Now, we are being penalized for their gross negligence.

Opposition from Uttan Residents against existing dumping ground facility.
Some local people have opposed the dumping of garbage in their nearby vicinity. They might be right from their personal angle as we now know from smell from accumulated garbage of few days. In fact, Supreme Court Guidelines & directions favour their case. It is learnt that some William Malu & Others of Uttan Area have filed a Public Interest Litigation No. 231 of 2009 In High Court, OS which is pending as on date. It is filed through Advocate V. P. Sawant (is he son of Justice P. Sawant?). On upper face, it appears to be in public interest. But surprisingly Senior Counsel K.K. Singhvi found appearing for these people opposing MBMC dumping garbage in Uttdan. These facts reveal that something is cooking behind the scene. It appears that these persons are being used as an instrument by Ruling Parties in State to get through their private agenda by using legal system of High Court.

Whatever it may be! It is necessary in larger public interest of Mira-Bhayender that they intervene in this PIL or file separate Petition to put up their side.

The Citizens are required to unite, discuss and fight for the basic facility of dumping ground and garbage lifting. The main points are:
1. To compel the MBMC & State Govt. to immediately provide some land to dump the garbage till permanent arrangement is done.
2. To compel the MBMC & State Govt. to acquire sufficient land (at far distance from residential area as per Supreme Court guidelines) to dump, process and dispose the garbage in eco friendly manner. The land shall be sufficient enough to take care of next 15-20 years. It should be equipped in such a manner that the garbage accumulated get disposed of in equivalent quantify of daily incoming garbage.
3. To compel the MBMC & State Govt. to take sufficient steps to utilize the accumulated garbage for making manure, gas and electricity i.e. recycle the maximum quantity.

The Citizens are requested to not to burn the garbage but kept in side and put pressure on local Corporators to arrange for its lifting.

What I can do?

If some housing societies come forward and give little fund of approx. 100000/- we can approach High Court and get appropriate directions for immediate action as stated above.

Forget funds, if some people are ready, some efforts can be taken for effective and immediate relief.
